"The city as a context for lived everyday religion"

A subproject under "Religion - Living heritage"
Participating institutions: Roskilde University and Roskilde Museum

How can museums in collaboration with diverse user groups develop creative formats with a focus on the city as a context for everyday religion?

The sub-project sees the city as cultural memory of religion and establishes a common meeting space between people with different religious backgrounds. It takes place through the involvement of diverse user groups meeting the museum and the city through co-curated city walks. The focus will be on the city as a multi-faceted religious memory.

Approaches: co-creation through ’sensory ethnography’ (Pink 2015), ’photo memory’ (Kuhn 2007), ’creative writing’ and pop-up-museeums (Grant og Simon 2013, Nightingale and Green 2010).
